PaceTurner shows your books on your wrist one word at a time (RSVP speed reading). Each word is anchored on a red focal letter so your eyes never have to move. Read at your own pace, pause any time for the surrounding text, and pick up exactly where you left off.

REQUIRES THE FREE ANDROID COMPANION APP. The watch app cannot read books on its own. The PaceTurner companion imports your EPUB, TXT and Markdown files on your phone, prepares them, and sends them to the watch. Download the companion APK from:
https://github.com/neryabigon/paceturner/releases

You also need Garmin Connect Mobile installed on the phone with your watch paired. The companion talks to the watch through it. Android only for now.

Features:

Word-by-word reading with an ORP focal letter and steady anchor marks

Adjustable speed (WPM), font size and pause behaviour from the watch menu

Pause to see the words around your place; rewind a word at a time

Chapter cards between chapters

Reads without the phone once a book is on the watch

Your position syncs both ways between the watch and the phone

The watch's own display settings control the screen. While the display is dimmed the words keep flowing. If the display turns off, PaceTurner pauses and saves your place.

Tested only on the fēnix 8 47 mm. The other fēnix 8 models are supported but untested; layouts on the smaller and MIP (Solar) screens may look different. Please report problems on the Issues page.

Free. PaceTurner collects no personal data: books, settings and reading positions stay on your phone and watch.
