Garmin has a built-in "Auto" light mode setting, which automatically adjusts the light intensity based on the ambient light or time of day. The issue with "Auto" mode is that is not configurable and that is why this application introduces a special "Smart" mode, which is fully configurable based on sunset, sunrise, speed, ... (check all filters below). The source code is available on GitHub: https://github.com/maca88/SmartBikeLights, where issues/feature requests can be opened.</p>

Brilliant - I use this for mountain biking, so really just want to be able to turn lights on and off when I jump off the trail and onto roads for short periods. Gives me all the options I want without having to get off the bike. Thank you for your efforts, delighted ;-)

Unfortunately I cannot use the data field, there's always the message "no network" even though the Varia RTL 516 is connected and functional

When “No network” is displayed it could be one of the following issues: - The light is not paired in the Garmin Sensors menu. Check under Lights submenu whether the light is paired as you may paired only the radar. - The serial number of the light set in the configurator does not match with actual light serial number (ignore this point if you didn’t set the serial number) - In case you are using “Individual Light Network”, you need to assure that the light is not paid in the Garmin Sensor menu

Took me a little while to figure out the various configuration options, but once I'd done that it became obvious that this is an incredibly useful app. Nice work!

Hello, thanks a lot for app. I am using this (lights off, flashing after car detection) ###0,73404416::1#2,2!RADAR:1:7:1:0I]-1]0!:1:0:0:0D=1###0::#0:0#0#B3112##2#0#0 It works good in day time. Is it posible to switch after sunset to solid light and to pulstation after detecting a car?

Hello, I bought the bon contractor Ion 200 RT light, if unfortunately only 3 orange lines are loaded, not 5 green ones, even after a second load it stays with 3 orange, I have also deleted the ION 200 from the 1040 And again newly connected, unfortunately it remains with 3 orange lines. Thank you for your help. Best regards Thomas

Unfortunately this is a known bug of Ion 200 RT and Flare RT lights. In order to display the correct battery level you need to factory reset the light after every charge, this is what I do for my Flare RT to fix the issue. You can check the following Garmin thread for more info: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/discussion/242959/bontrager-flare-rt-battery-bug
