See when your Garmin caught sunlight today, on a free watch face.

SolarDay Lite is best on Garmin watches with a solar panel. The ring around the dial is a 24-hour clock with noon at the top, and it lights up wherever your panel caught sunlight today. The line under the fields adds up your full sun, and the gauge at the bottom shows how strong the light on your panel is right now.

Free, with no time limit and no unlock codes. Nothing on the watch asks you to buy anything.

THE RING
- Every 15 minutes of light on the panel lights the ring: deep red in weak light, white in strong sun. It clears at midnight.
- It keeps filling in during an activity: the face measures every 5 minutes in the background.
- The sun rides the ring as a bead that warms from ember to white, its rays growing with the light on your panel.
- Marks show today's sunrise and sunset. At night the moon takes the sun's place, at tonight's real phase.

THE SUN
- Full sun today, and the time of your next sunrise or sunset. Full sun counts measured light: an hour at half strength is 30 minutes, so it runs lower than your time outdoors.
- A solar gauge for how strong the light on your panel is right now.
- When your battery is full, Garmin pauses solar charging. The gauge says FULL instead of 0 and the ring marks that time, so a sunny day at 100% never looks empty.

THE FACE
- A big LCD-style time that stays readable in direct sun, drawn in the 64 colors a MIP screen shows.
- The weather in natural colors, by day and by night: a gold sun, blue rain, a yellow lightning bolt (grays with the Silver accent).
- Three data fields: battery, weather and temperature, and steps. Touch one to open its app.
- The date, in one of 8 formats.
- A dark or light background, or light by day and dark at night, and 8 accent colors.
- Seconds while your watch is awake, or none. With seconds, the weather and the sun line's sun are one color.
- 12 or 24 hours, or as your watch is set.
- 7 languages: English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Português, Nederlands. The face follows your watch, or the language you pick.
- Every setting is in the Connect IQ app on your phone: SolarDay Lite, Settings.

LITE AND SOLARDAY
SolarDay Lite is the free edition of SolarDay, a paid face from the same developer. SolarDay adds a glowing ring with today's golden hour and twilight, a painted sky with your weather in it and your sun sign in real stars at night, your week of sun, 16 looks, Observatory red, 42 data fields and more. On the fenix 6 Pro series, SolarDay stays on its older version, 1.2.5.

GOOD TO KNOW
- No solar panel? The ring follows the sun's path, dim red for the part still ahead, the line shows the day's length, such as 12h06, and the gauge rests.
- On the fenix 6 Pro series the fields don't open apps (no touchscreen). On every 6 Pro and 6S Pro edition and the quatix 6, the words on the face, such as the date, are in English, and there are no seconds.
- Sunrise and sunset come from your last known location or your phone's weather. SolarDay Lite never turns on GPS.
- Weather needs a phone sync first.
- If the face won't load after an update, pick another face, then SolarDay Lite again. Reinstalling erases today's trail.
- SolarDay is a separate app: your Lite settings do not move to it, and its week of sun starts filling in the day you install it.
- Permissions: background (measuring while the face is covered), location (sunrise and sunset), and sensor history, user profile and complications for data fields.
