Name: Domestique Face
Author: Salih

Black-and-white watch face for cyclists on the Instinct 3 Solar. Everything comes from the watch itself except HRV and READY, which the face reads from the Domestique app with your own watch key (optional).

Top: date, time and Garmin Training Status. Round window: a 24-hour day dial with the night as a heavy arc, a hand for now and the time left until dusk (or dawn). Middle and bottom: six slots. By default sleep score dial, overnight HRV with its baseline bar, and READY (0-100), the answer to "can I train as planned today?": the lower of the week (the HRV-guided rule tested in cyclists, Javaloyes et al. 2019 - the 7-day HRV mean inside your own baseline band) and last night (Kiviniemi et al. 2007 - HRV well below your baseline or resting heart rate well above it); below them heart rate, temperature with a sky icon and cycling VO2max, then the battery.

Slots: each of the two dials, the column and the three cells can show any of 17 items - sleep score, READY, its week and night halves, Body Battery, stress, fuel left, steps, recovery time, watch battery, HRV, resting heart rate, weight, next workout, heart rate, temperature, VO2max. Change them on the watch (watch face menu, Settings, Slots) or in the face's settings in Garmin Connect. A dial fills its ring for 0-100 items, the column adds a bar, a cell shows label and value.

HRV and READY: in the Domestique app open Settings, Connections, Garmin watch and make a watch key; paste it into this face's settings in Garmin Connect (Domestique watch key). The face then reads one small summary every 30 minutes through your phone; the key only reads, and you can revoke it in the app at any time. Without a key the face shows NO KEY in place of HRV and everything else works as before.

Built for battery life: the face redraws once a minute with no seconds and no animation; heart rate and battery are re-read once a minute, the rest every five minutes; the only background work is the Domestique read, and only when a key is set.
