Name: Afterglow – Fading Trail Heatmap
Author: JakubSypianski

Your personal on-watch heatmap. Afterglow is a full-screen data field that draws the tracks of your past walks and runs around your current position. Paths you take most often glow brightest, and the whole map stays readable in direct sunlight. It builds its own history automatically while the activity timer runs: no phone, no companion app, no internet needed.

What you see:
• Your past tracks around you, brighter where you walk more often (or fading by age, your choice).
• A heading arrow while you move, and a hollow dashed marker with "GPS · N s ago" when the fix is lost, so a stale map never looks live.
• A scale bar with the current zoom. The Lap key switches between 100 m, 400 m and 1 km.
• A pointer to the nearest saved track when nothing is around you.
• Two configurable data fields (clock, timer, distance, pace, speed, heart rate and more).

Settings (via the Connect IQ mobile app): zoom radius, trail brightness (by how often walked / by age), time window (week / month / 3 months / year / all), recorded point spacing, the two data fields.

History starts collecting from the first activity with this field on screen. Forerunner 965 only.
