The vPower data field app has been developed for those who are not fortunate enough to own an expensive power meter. Firstly, this is not 100% accurate. As you can imagine, there is a lot of variables at play to calculate power on the pedals accurately. This is my best attempt to take all these variables into consideration and developed the app with the following key features:

Version History

Update to include 40 series devices, new 7 and Epix.

It's works, for me and anyone who need to see some live data about relative effort while riding. This estimation is not much different than others power estimator like 4iiii or stages, of course this is not a SRM or Quarz replacement but show you relevant data.

Very helpful app!!! Just a question on “trainer mode” - do I have to turn it off when riding outdoors?

Love it! Any chance of adding Wahoo Kickr Core to the range of supported Trainers? Thank you.

I have happily used vPower for a long time to get an estimate of power while riding. Considering it is free it compares surprisingly well to a direct measurement PM (which I recently acquired). vPower calculates an estimated power based on GPS data and rider plus bike weight. For obvious reasons vPower is slower to react to changes in power and doesn't capture very short bursts of power. Because of this lag, using vPower to pace short intervals feels a bit like using a heart rate monitor to do the same. Perhaps more importantly vPower knows nothing about wind, changes in your drag coefficient due to position or other factors so at any given moment can over or under estimate power. I have also seen it significantly overestimate power on some descents. Richard https://www.strava.com/athletes/36029711

I used today for the first time. I can see that default settings on my FR230 works. I don't know if the values of power are reliable. Anyway 4 stars

Seems to take in count only the speed, not the gradient or the vertical speed (using default settings). In a 6-12% gradient uphill, power values are 8-15 watts!!

La aplicación calcula la potencia sin tener en cuenta la pendiente; o la elevación. El altímetro de mi fénix 3 HR si marca las pendientes; pero la gráfica de potencia es muy similar a la de velocidad; marca potencias altas en descensos.

the idea is good, app works fine but I can't compare with real data from a real pm. anyway, for who doesn't care so much and wants just a ideal data, I think is the best app here. I would advice to add a menu where is possible to insert a speed where watt are not considered..if I pedal at 45rpm downhill, it'll counts watt! so maybe at least 50rpm and variable km/h or just take into account negative slope degrees would be perfect.

Not working, the graph is pretty similar to speed graph so it does not take into account HR...I haven't tried using cadence sensor but, as description says, it shouldn't be the reason for the malfunction.
