FIX FOR WORKOUTS NOT DOWNLOADING Spent the last few days banging my head against a wall because I would select the app on my Garmin 935, it would spin with Workouts, try to download and then return to the Training Peaks logo. I am posting this to help anyone else having the same problem with what is an amazing app when it works. Managed to fix this by removing all stored workouts on my watch. It looks like the app stores a TP workout every time you download one and it eventually runs out of room. Clearing out workouts fixed the issue for me. Workouts are stored under each sport and you have to delete them manually (Or connect to a computer and remove them, google how to do this because I just deleted one by one via the watch as didn't have access to a computer at the time). HOW TO DELETE WORKOUTS: 1. Press Start 2. Scroll up/down to highlight a sport app that you know you have used for a TP workout (e.g. did some Run intervals and selected the Run app to use for the downloaded workout) 3. Hold the Up button until the sport specific settings appear. 4. Select Training 5. Select My Workouts 6. Select the workout that can be deleted and choose Delete Repeat these steps for any sports you have used TP for, e.g. I use it for Run and Bike workouts so I cleared all of those out. Went to the TP and it worked. Hope this helps. As for a review, I love this app! Nothing better than not having to keep checking a screen to see how long left in an interval or if you are going at the right speed/power!

Works great, could be improved if you can set an option to sync a pre defined number of trainings each time or at least be able to sync the night before so you don't need to do it in the morning and connect to the phone

I use it for both cycling and running workouts, and whilst I like the fact that it makes following the running and cycling parts of my triathlon training plan easier, I'm frustrated by the lack of flexibility of the app. Firstly, I can't actually be sure what data is being shown for run workouts... I think it's average pace per lap, but I'm not sure. Also, I've recently started using my HRM-Tri (with Fenix 5) to record running power, but I can't use it on the app - instead I have to use pace, which defeats the point of having running power. Considering how promising running power is as a training aid, it seems a shame not to be able to harness the benefits in the app!

I can upload my TP workouts to my Edge 1000, but all that I get is the screen with the TP logo on it.

I am unable to download anything from raining Peaks, including the Connect IQ App, on my Garmin 520. Every time I start the download from the 520 itself (where it appears as one of my apps) I get an "Error Storage" message shortly after it starts downloading. One time, it simply froze during downloading instead and eventually had an "Error BLE Timeout" message. I deleted all my stored files and existing workouts first based on comments here. Unless the developer has a solution, this is useless to me and I will stop using Training Peaks as well.

after i understood that your app only downloads the Workout from TP to my Watch and after the download everything else is a garmin issue i can give you perfect 5Stars. But please also pass my feedback to garmin that (after Stryd gives perfect realtime Pace) we need customizable Pace / Power on the Workout page (realtime, 3 sec Avg...) btw is there a Ticket open for this request?

It is ok- needs to be able to change to a 3 or 10s average. Also cadence would be great as some interval sessions are designed for that specifically. Training Peaks would you look at this?

Once you are performing the workout, you are back in Garmin's workout interface. The main workout screen is not customizable, but you add 3s power average and cadence to a custom screen. This is Garmin's documentation on how to do that on a Fenix 5, it is similar for other devices: https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/fenix5/EN-US/GUID-638CD68D-11B0-4D9C-B8B7-E28D15EC4566.html

I like the app however for some reason in fenix 5 it does not display the power reading at the top of the screen during the run.

Once you are performing the workout you are back in Garmin's workout interface, which only shows power values from power meters the device is directly paired with. The Stryd foot pod reports its value as a custom data field, and the device does not know that the custom value should be treated as a power value. I don't think Garmin's own running power would be displayed in workout mode either since it too is implemented as a custom data field. To get around this, you can add Stryd's data field to a custom page. This is Garmin's documentation on how to do that on a Fenix 5, it is similar for other devices: https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/fenix5/EN-US/GUID-638CD68D-11B0-4D9C-B8B7-E28D15EC4566.html We will pass along your feedback to Garmin that the workout screen should be customizable; and that the Stryd footpod should be supported as a standard sensor and not through a IQ data field - otherwise it will not work Garmin's workout screen

Used first time on the road yesterday via Garmin 520. Worked well but annoying that the power reading appears “live” and is not configurable to “3 sec av” or other to smooth it out. Constant beeps as I jumped in and out f the zone as the gradient changed. Ability to add cadence data would also be great. I understand this is a Garmin rather than app issue so please, if correct, pass the feedback onto Garmin.

You are correct, the ability to customize the workout page is a feature that we would like to see Garmin implement and have already passed this along. There is a lot of information crammed on that page, which is our guess as to why it is not customizable. While in workout mode, you can still access other pages if you would like to see your cadence. Some devices will let you add workout targets to custom pages. I am not sure what the 520 allows. Typically the beeps let you know if you are out of your desired zone. If they become annoying you can turn them off. You can also edit the workout beforehand in TrainingPeaks to give the interval a wider target range.

Like other people, I have the problem: Please connect your phone and open the Gartmin Mobile App. I have deleted all workouts and activities. I have plenty of space available on my 735XT. I have rebooted watch and cell phone multiple times. Still no luck.

The App works great with Garmin Edge 520. Synchronization is fast and smooth. All previous workouts must be erased to make it work..

Hi, I can't use the IQ app on my Garmin Edge 520. I've checked the free space on my computer and it's ok but unfortunately I csee just the TraingPeaks logo on the screen and nothing has happened.

I’m having a similar problem to most of the 735XT owners on here. When I load the app on the watch it says ‘Please connect your phone and open the Connect Mobile App’. I’ve done all the usual things to try and resolve but it’s not playing ball. Overall a very poorly tested piece of software.
