I'm another 735xt owner who can't get beyond installing, syncing with my 735XT (which is connected through GC phone app already) ... I get as far as "Please connect your phone and open the Connect Mobile App" and I follow this instruction and nothing happens!! I followed your recommendation to connect the 735xt to GC phone app before opening the TP app. It would be great to get this working as I have a paid training plan hosting on TP but it simply doesn't work on a device it claims to work on. Therefore 1 star, sorry.

The 735XT is a problem child, the CIQ 2.x platform requires a lot of memory and processing power and the 735XT struggles to keep up. We have discussed this with Garmin. But no one can tell us what other tasks may be running on the watch that need to be temporarily turned off in order to get through the login process, which requires a lot of the 735XT's attention. However, we know it is working since we track which devices are downloading workouts and there are plenty going to a 735XT. If you are seeing the message "connect your phone..." then the watch does not think it is connected to the phone. Try this. Have the GCM app open and connected to the watch. Let the watch and GCM app finishing whatever sync they do when they first connect. Then launch the TP app and wait for TP login screen shows up within the GCM app. If that still does not work, try disabling what every you can in order to give the 735XT a fighting chance. Once you get logged in, it takes less effort for the 735XT to download the workouts, so you can enable everything once again. Based on feedback we have heard from other users with 735XTs there seems to be more issues with Android devices than iOS devices, your results may vary. If getting logged in is not frustrating enough, the 735XT only allows ~32 workouts to be stored on it at anyone time. So once you hit that limit you will need manually delete the older workouts. Based on Murphy's Law you will find yourself in this situation at the least opportune time. Sometime it works, sometime it doesn’t. For a reason, today’s structured workout made by my coach keeps giving me a -400 error on the Garmin Edge 1000.

This *used* to work on my Fenix 5 and was absolutely invaluable! It is now broken. (I've tried reinstalling, and even tried factory resetting my Fenix5 as well as uninstalling/reinstalling Garmin Connect Mobile - nothing has worked). When I launch the TP app, it prompts me to log in via my mobile to authorise the app - I do this (on the phone, my log in is fine, and the app gets authorised). The app on my Fenix 5, however, is still just sitting there waiting for authorisation. It simply does not get passed this stage. Quitting and restarting the app on the watch simply re-initiates this whole process again. Curiously, while I'm on my mobile, trying to authorise the app, the watch submits several requests for authorisation... This is on Android 7.0. Obviously (hopefully!) I really appreciate the app, but there is one little thing that stops me from using it. When I set a pace target it is transferred to the watch with a pace corridor of approx. +-15s which is by far too much. Usually I set +-5s around my target pace. Any chance to make the “window” configurable? Either in the IQ app or on the trainingspeak.com side? That would be a 5star feature for me.

I like the idea, but can't seem to get beyond installing, syncing with my 735XT (which is connected through GC phone app already) ... No idea what to do next, and there's precious little step by step instruction for different devices out there. Very frustrating indeed as this should be a great app if I can get it to work!

We have found that it works better if before launching the TrainingPeaks app that the Garmin Connect mobile app is already open and the device is connected to the phone.

I agree with the displeasure with the issue described by Carlos Echeverry. The same goes for power. I cannot understand that such differences exist between the objectives set in the workout builder and those sent to the monitor.

Was soll diese App, die mit keinem meiner Garmingeräte (Forerunner, Fenix, Edge) funktioniert? Die Entwicklungszeit hätte man sich sparen können...oder einfach richtig nutzen sollen! Oder gebt einfach mal eine plausible Anleitung, wie man von TrainingPeaks ein Workout in ein Garmingerät exportiert. Bitte aber kurz und bündig!!!

I can't upload a workout to my fenix 5s. When is updatimg the workouts it goes "downloading" and then it shows me the the training peaks logo again.

What you are describing sounds like your device has reached the max number of workout files that it can store. Each device has an upper limit to the number of workouts that it can store at anyone time. This is independent to the amount of total storage capacity of the device, which is mostly reserved for activity data. Try deleting a few workouts to see if that fixes the problem. Installed everything on my new edge 520 with the latest firmware but I always have an error 400. Uninstalled everything and repeated the installation, same thing. Terrible apps that doesn’t work as expected.

Works great for certain workouts on certain devices, but not all and not perfectly. My main issue is that swim workouts are not currently supported, nor any workouts with RPE as a goal. I very much hope they get this worked out soon.

The workout instructions are transferred from TrainingPeaks to the Garmin device as a .FIT Workout file. Currently neither the .FIT Workout file format nor any Garmin devices support RPE as an intensity target. For RPE based workouts, we are considering just setting the duration of each step and not the setting the intensity value. When doing a trainingpeaks structured workout on my Edge1000 the powernumber is all over the place. In my garmin I use a 10 sec. average power to smooth the numbers. I have not found such a functionality on this app. Will this become available?

Once you are performing the workout, you are back in Garmin's workout interface. Their main workout screen is not customizable, but you create custom screen with the exact information you would like to view during your workout. The app requires that the workouts are created using the TrainingPeaks Workout Builder. Once you are performing the workout, you are back in Garmin's workout interface and all the options for auto pause are available. I am not sure which device you are using but changing that setting is similar on on all devices. When looking at the training session it says No Structured Workouts Found, will it only show the current days workouts? How can I see future workouts on the device?

The Connect IQ app only shows the workouts for the current day. When needed, you can use our mobile apps to view or modify your training scheduled on the fly. Disappointing that you have to use the workout builder. My coaches just copy and paste the workout into the text boxes for each activity in the calendar basically a waste

We are in the process of educating coaches on the benefits of using the workout builder for all of their workouts. There are many benefits for both the coach and their athletes. Does not work at all on Garmin 520 It downloads the workout or workouts but does not progress pass that point and yes everything is up to date on all new versions and have reset it many times.

The message "no structured workouts found" is a little bit misleading. I expected the app to sync all workouts, but it seems to do that only for the CURRENT DAY. Maybe the message should be "no structured workouts found for today"
