At first it seems like the perfect solution; a route planning app to guide your rides. It accomplishes this, but it is not as polished as some of the other options out there. BUT, it does offer KOM notification within the route, which is a game changer for me and the primary reason to use it. There are two main drawbacks to this app 1) The route planning interface is lacking and 2) You cannot stop the active route and open another without stopping your current activity. I would imagine the route planning would get better over time. Until then, don't expect to do a ride and then use it. All the wrong turns you made on the ride cannot be corrected post ride. Also the auto routing seems awfully bad at it's job. You've got two choices, popular or manual auto routing. The popular option doesn't really do a good job of getting you to where your trying to go and/or doing so while incorporating popular segments. The manual option will take you down the most direct route without any regard for the bajillion turns it wants you to take to get there. The bottom line is that this SHOULD be the go to app for routing on a cycling headunit, bit it's got a ways to go. It is still worth your time, and is a decent app. Thanks developer for making this, looking forward to updating this review in the future without my current reservations.

Can't authorize. The Strava web page served up in the Connect app always say "Your session expired. Please log in again." after clicking the Authorize button. Sometimes is says it in different languages (Portuguese and German so far)

if it says you have to open the connect app, check your notifications and sign in to strava via your Garmin connect app then it syncs. I'm getting an error code that I'm assuming is because its too large of a file to import through bluetooth.

@DemonR I had the same problem: open message in garmin connect. There you will be asked for authorisation. Then it works. :-)

Worked very well briefly, then I had to get a replacement for a faulty Edge 820 and now it won't connect. I get a message saying 'To complete Connection, open the Garmin Connect Mobile App on your phone'. It's already open and bluetooth connected, but nothing happens. I wonder: does anyone from Garmin/Strava actually read all these complaints?

It doesn't work. Brand new edge 1030 for this purpose and, nothing. On the 1030 it says "to complete connection, open garmin connect mobile app on your phone." Okay. I do that on the phone, and authorize the connection, and that's when it's supposed to sync the stared Strava Routes and self-created routes, but alas it doesn't work. Really terrible experience garmin.

My Fenix 5X tells me to go to GCM on the phone and authorize. When I do it says session expired once it is trying to load Strava. Bummer.

App does not work for me on Fenix 5x. It says to "open the GCM app on your phone". I have the Garmin connect mobile app open and try refreshing and resync but nothing gets it working. I was very hopeful that this wonderful feature would work.

Worked once, was same as following a Garmin route on the native Fenix software. Ever since has given a variety of error codes. Very undependable and disappointing as I counted on being able to follow a route.

Just purchased Garmin 1030, was hoping for wireless transfer of routes from Strava. Doesn't work, just get an error after the unit tries to download - IQ with exclamation sign. Should have listened to others and bought a Wahoo. Garmin software is TERRIBLE

Tried this on 2 different 520 and never worked on either. Same Bluetooth error on both. Garmin needs to sort this out because iv had two 520 now with broken usb receptacles so It would have been nice to download new routes directly without having to hard connect.

De nieuw gemaakte routes kunnen niet meer gedownload worden. Ik krijg de foutmelding: Trouble connecting to the server Error Code: 406... En het vreemde is dat de routes die eerder gemaakt zijn, wel gedownload kunnen worden...
