Foot Pod Pace is a Data Field (this means it needs to be selected on one of the pages of an existing activity) which makes a direct connection to an ANT+ Foot Pod and depending on the system setting displays pace in min/km or minutes/mile to a resolution of 1 sec.

It is generally accepted that GPS is not a suitable source for instantaneous pace information. Because of this some high end Garmin GPS watches have the ability to select the Foot Pod as the source of speed and hence pace information. Foot Pod Pace brings the same capability to mainstream Garmin devices. In addition it can be used in conjunction with GPS based pace information (Lap Pace is my personal favourite) during activities where part of the course is affected by GPS issues such as tunnels, extensive high rise buildings or thick foliage.
