Turn your watch into a live aircraft radar. Overhead shows the planes flying around you on an animated radar scope, right on your wrist.


WHAT YOU GET
• A north up radar with a rotating sweep. Aircraft light up as the sweep passes and fade until the next pass.
• Aircraft drawn as arrows along their track, with a line showing where each one will be in a minute.
• Smooth movement between updates, so planes glide across the screen instead of jumping.
• Ranges of 5, 10, 25 and 50 nautical miles.
• Tap an aircraft, or step through them nearest first with UP and DOWN, to pin it.
• A detail page with callsign, registration, aircraft type, operator, altitude, climbing or descending, ground speed, track, squawk, and its distance and bearing from you.
• Helicopters shown as rings, and aircraft squawking 7500, 7600 or 7700 highlighted in red.
• Aircraft on the ground are hidden so airports stay readable.

HOW IT WORKS
Overhead needs your phone connected through Garmin Connect for internet access, and a GPS position on the watch. Live positions come from the OpenSky Network. Registration, type and operator come from hexdb.io.

FREE OPENSKY KEY (RECOMMENDED)
Without a key, OpenSky allows roughly an hour of radar per day. With your own free key you get around 11 hours.
1. Create a free account at opensky-network.org.
2. Open Account, then API client, and create a client.
3. In Garmin Connect, open this app's settings and enter the client ID and client secret.
Your key is stored only in your app settings and is sent only to OpenSky.

PLEASE NOTE
Coverage depends on OpenSky's volunteer receivers and varies by region. Some aircraft may be missing or delayed. Overhead is for plane spotting and fun. It is not a navigation or collision avoidance aid and must not be used for flight safety.
