Like the idea but wish there was a better way to look back on beers earned. A calendar type view or a weekly running total of beers earned would improve this

Those are all great ideas! And while you can view the Bears Earned on each individual workout (in Connect or Connect Mobile), unfortunately Garmin's Connect IQ restrictions don't provide a way to do this. If that changes in the future, I'll definitely look into implementing it!

As a data field, It doesn't activate on its own (Garmin's limitation). please read the app description of how it must be added to a data screen for each activity you wish to use it with. If you'd like more specific help, please use the "Contact Developer" link.

I have tested this data field on multiple physical devices, and have not encountered this issue. Could you use the "Contact Developer" link to send me information on which device you're using it on, and perhaps a short video of what you're seeing?

This data field has become my sole motivation for even using my Garmin!!! Beers Earned is genius!!! I agree with another rating that I just read...I’d like a notification added for each beer earned! Nonetheless, this data field works flawlessly for me! Please maintain your integrity!

The single most important data field I've ever had lol! Brilliant idea. What I would really love to see is a sound when you've earned a beer!

Thanks, it really is my most important field too! I'd not thought of adding a notification (I don't want it to conflict with the lap sound/vibration), but it looks like there is an API for it, so I'll look into adding it (configurable to enable/disable of course).

Loved this app when I downloaded it months ago. But recently it doesn't work anymore with my Fenix 6s. It doesn't show the beers and when I click into it, it leads me to the Garmin Connect to re-download the app. Even after I do so, it still brings me to the same app download page and no longer shows the beers per run.

Hi guy's, I love your add-on for my watch. But it would be nice to have an daily, monthly and yearly overview, how much beers I've had earned at all.

This is my favorite piece of data. However, how do you input the calories of your go to brew? Asking for a friend ;)

It's super-hidden (thanks Garmin). On your phone, go to Connect IQ app, select "My Device" then "My Data Fields." The "Beers Earned" data field should be in there, select that, and then there should be a "Settings" button on the details page. THAT is where you configure it.

Great motivator. You can even input the calories of your go to brew, so you know it's accurate. Love it

Funny idea. Use it since years and it’s always a nice little data field when going hiking/climbing/mountaineering with some friends.

I’ve added it to my data fields and synched it but it will not show up on my watch or my activities. I have a Vivoactive 3 Music.

Garmin doesn't make it easy to use Connect IQ data fields. After you install them on your device, you must manually add it to EACH activity you want to use it in. For examples of how to add/configure data fields on your Vivoactive 3, there doesn't seem to be a video for that, but it should be very similar to the Vivoactive 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2z7Tkjfgh0

Now I can run with purpose and not feel guilty after my run, open a nice cold and wonder, did i work for this? The proof is in the data output.

Is there a way to se a total count through a period of time, ex 1 week? When I go in the activity I cant see how many beers I’ve earned in one run. Do I have to remember or am I doing something wrong?

There's not a way to get a cumulative total, but it does record both a chart during the activity, and a total number at the end. In Connect Mobile App, view any activity, and the total beers earned is at the VERY bottom of the 2nd tab, and the chart (in yellow) is on the 4th tab. On the web, view your activity and there's a yellow chart, and the total is under a heading named "Connect IQ" that's labeled "beers earned." This is typically at the very bottom.

This is not an "app", it is a data field for activities, so you don’t run it on it’s own. Instead you start an activity, and then go to the data field settings for that activity to add it to one of the data screens. It varies depending on the device, but Garmin has some examples on their YouTube site: http://www.youtube.com/user/garminblog/search?query=data+fields

It *DOES* show up your Garmin Connect (or mobile app) though, stored with each workout! Unfortunately it won't transfer to Strava (yet?) since Strava doesn't support custom data fields (or at least not that I know of, and if they do, it's not pulling them from Connect IQ custom data fields).

Loved this widget on my 820 and stoked that it now works on my Edge 830. Breweries are always part of my big rides so this is a fun way to track how many beers I've earned before I arrive for the post-ride drinks. It's easy to configure via the phone (garmin connect app) and I've set it up for calorie-heavy IPAs (around 300 calories a pint). Now I just need to get a Chips Earned widget and I'll be set!
