Not a review per say, but a request for help. I have this installed for my Edge 830. I can see the values getting updated during the ride on the screen but it doesn't get recorded as part of my stats post the ride under the IQ Connect data fields. The smoothed vo2 max and session vo2 max is always zero. Under the app Settings, the smoothed Vo2 max is set to 34.5. What am i doing wrong ?

Nice app. I have using it for couple years. With new EDGE 540 I can not setup calculation from power, only with HR. I tried to change calculation method and calculation time, but it not accept changes

Hello Nenad and thanks for your comment. When testing the datafield in the sim with your device, everything works fine. So, maybe there is an issue with your device, or a different behavior between the sim and the device (but I doubt). I suggest you soft reset your device, this process solves many such problems. Then, you should have access to the settings and modify them.

This fields seems to be pretty good - obviously without a Powermeter it's not possible to comment on accuracy but seems to be in the right ballpark. Only thing missing I think is that I can't see it updating the Garmin Cycling VO2 Max in my profile - and I can't seem to be able to set it manually. Other than that it's a good extra stat to have...

Hello Greg and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, the Garmin Cycling VO2 Max in your profile is a protected data, and cannot be updated by a third-party application, only Garmin can do that. To set your VO2 Max manually in the settings of the datafield, just open and enter the settings window and enter a value in the Smoothed VO2 field then, save your change.

Hello D. Karat and thanks for your comment. Since its release, this data field has never consumed excessive battery power. If this is happening on your watch, it's probably due to the firmware, as sometimes happens after a firmware update. Did you try to soft reset your watch after the firmware update, this often solves this kind of issue.

Hello Leigh and thanks for your comment. This datafield is working fine, unless the data (HR or power) sent to it are not correct. The datafield does not run by itself, it needs HR or power values in order to work properly but, if these data are not correct (bad HR or power values), the calculations made by the data fields will also be false, that may explain your bad result. Check the data calculated and sent by your sensors, and this should fix your issue. If all is correct, I cannot explain the situation without more explanations and details, except if you reach me by email.

Hello Piotr and thanks for your comment. This field is only used to enter the last known VO2 max value (calculated by the datafield), just in case you would have to reinstall the datafield (or install it on a new watch). So, with it, you start again with the last known value, and not a null value. I normal condition, this field should be left as is.

Hello, is there a possibility to use it for indoor cycling too? After the app I use for indoor spinning (like Zwift) sends the data to my Forerunner 245? My spinning bike has Bluetooth and sends the data to Zwift during the ride. But I think the app can't function then?

Hello Sofie and thanks for your comment. The algorithms use either HR or power to calculate your VO2, even if your real speed is null. So, the result should be the same as if you were outdoor. I never tested it indoor with this kind of equipment but, in theory, it should work the same way as for outdoor.
