A simple data field for displaying data from a Shimano STEPS ebike on your watch. Mainly useful if you use the EW-EN100 instead of a display on your bike. It is also known to work with the following displays: SC-E6100, SC-E7000, SC-EM800 (EP8), and an EP8 motor connected to the EW-EN100 (like the Orbea Rise) - but *does not* work with the old SC-E8000 display.

By default it just shows battery percentage, but you can customise the settings to also display assist mode and gear number. A guide for accessing the settings is here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/w/wiki/14/changing-your-app-settings-in-garmin-express-gcm-ciq-mobile-store. And my favourite feature is you can also customise the "EMTB STEPS" text to whatever you like in the settings ;) - note the text won't update until the data field next starts up.

Worked perfectly until the last Garmin update... Now I can't get a connection between bike and instinct 2 watch! Unfortunately, restarting and reinstalling was unsuccessful. Does anyone have a solution for my problem? Thanks in advance!

[Latest] - it looks like there is a bug in the new firmware from Garmin for the Instinct 2. Hopefully they will fix it soon, but it will need a new firmware update from them again I'm sure. There is a bug report here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/i/bug-reports/bluetoothlowenergy-bug-in-the-latest-instinct-2-firmware

If anyone else has the same problem then Michael managed to solve it by factory resetting the watch - I think the Garmin app installation sometimes leaves things in a dodgy state. Other things to try before a hard reset just in case they work (and sometimes they do ...): - Uninstall the data field and then reinstall it. - Power off the watch and then back on again.

It works, but... when you use this app, it disconnects ebike as a sensor in garmin edge, so you can't use both - app and shimano steps data screen. This is also related to what previous reviewers said - it doesn't logg any data during usage. I don't blame the author - it's propably shimano problem.

Hello, I'm using it with the Orbea Rise, which has no display and works great. Is perfect. Thanks for the work done. Is it possible to include the Travel Range field? Thanks

The data field works great. Would it be possible to make the data visible afterwards in the garmin connect application?

I reached out to the developer, Mark, and in a few days he updated it to work with the Venu2. Bike: OHM Cruise with E6100 motor with SC-E6100 display. Connects quickly (a couple of seconds), and changing assist modes is reflected on the watch in well under a second. Now I can see battery percentage as opposed to the 5 bars that the Shimano displays offer up. Only note: Assist modes have different names on the E6100 (Trail = Norm, and Boost = High). It's not a functional problem at all. This is a no-brainer first-screen datafield for anyone with a compatible Shimano e-bike.

Works great in YT Decoy and Fenix 6x Pro. A suggestion for improvement would be that asistance and cadence be saved in the garmin to be seen later in the route information
