GPS can not be activated on my 735 XT. It is just a useless app without it

Getting the same bug that all the preceding folks are reporting. Open it up on device, go to mobile app, attempt to link and... "your session expired". But really, is that what the user needs to trouble shoot on their own to get this to work? While Garmin can be blamed for lots of things, i'm gonna guess this one is firmly in Strava's court. For pete's sake you're onto raising a K round, you won't be a unicorn or a dragon, just accept you're a small niche endurance fitness app and put money back into keeping already built products working. Whatever the hell you're wasting capital on is beyond me. But it sure as hell ain't engineering.
Update 1: Just found a work around that i've had to use when syncing GC with Strava on device a week ago. After I received the "your session expired" message i logged out of that session of strava then went back to the 520, re-enter the strava route syncing process, received the the prompt to continue on the mobile app and then logged in and approved access. _Now_ it works.
Update 2: seems if i want to cement the file on the device (i.e. not need the phone to still be connected) i need to hit navigate route (with phone connected) and then select an activity profile. it starts to compile the route and it's at this point that the ride route now is anchored in the navigation section of the device and i can disconnect the phone.

Like many other Garmin experiences I have had, this is pretty consistent - poor experience. Unintuitive "Open the GCM App on your phone" which I did - and said it needed to be authorised by Strava - which then says "Your session expired. Please log in again." Have tried many things including logging out and logging in again - nothing.. and like my other experiences, this has been a 1-star. Garmin, please do something about it...

Doesn't work. Strava reports "session expired"
IQ app just waits with the screen "To complete...."

I had problems downloading routes to my Garmin Edge 1030. I was connected and could see my routes. But when I "clicked" one of them nothing happened. After a couple of seconds I got an IQ icon with an yellow exclamation mark. I just realized that it was a issue regarding my naming of the route. Maybe the name was too long or included non acceptable characters. I changed the name to "65 km" and it instantly worked.

Impossible to connect my watch to Strava Routes: it keeps mentioning "session expired" when we try to grant access to Strava account on the iOS Garmin Connect App.
No Workaround, impossible to copy and paste the auth URL to test it from another device/browser: everything is disabled on the screen.

How to fix "Session timed out" error...
Very frustrating for awhile, but all you have to do when your session is said to have timed out is:
1) Swipe down and click the "hamburger" options button and log out
2) Close the Garmin app by double clicking home button and swiping up
3) Restart the Garmin app on your phone and Strava Routes app on device
4) Log back in when prompted.

Keep getting Bluetooth error, even though my phone is connected. It just will not load the routes I have created. More crap software from Garmin! Really disappointed in their Face It app too!

Sounds great, but doesn't work. The device (Edge 520 plus) says go to my phone to complete, my phone logs into Strava and immediately says session expired. Quit, re-log in and still nothing. Thus far my foray back into Garmin products has been a disaster.

Tras descargar la ruta y desconectar el móvil mi 735XT inició la ruta pero ni contaba km ni ritmo ni nada de nada.Supongo que no será necesario llevar el movil encima, porque sino para que quiero un reloj...

Cannot use it, as i cannot log in strava with my google account from Garmin Connect... It says: "Error: disallowed_useragent. This user-agent is not permitted to make an OAuth authorization request to Google as it is classified as an embedded user-agent".

This is going to be long-winded, but I hope it helps someone else who has the same problem as me. The app worked great for about 8 months for me. I used it heavily to navigate trails and new street commute runs. Then, right when I needed it most (traveling abroad), I kept getting the following two messages, in series, when attempting to load a route: "Exceeded maximum number of courses. Some courses not imported." Followed immediately by "Trouble connecting to the server Error Code: 2050." I contacted Strava support, and they had me follow a procedure similar to what others here have recommended, to no avail. However, as I poked around, I noticed the Navigate feature had a "Courses" section; in that (completely unrelated to Strava) app, were all my Strava courses! This was likely the aforementioned, filled-up courses section the first error was talking about! I deleted all courses from that section, and voila, I am once again able to use the app.

Ah, finally! Back to loading private routes. Thank you developers! Update (or reinstall) the app from Garmin Connect, go through authentication again and authorize the use of private route info. Works like a charm again on my FR935!
