There is no way to avoid it. This won't affect the timer, which will display the total elapsed time when you open the widget is again, including the period in which the widget wasn't in the foreground. This is one of the reasons why we decided not to add functions such as 'lap' etc. To understand the problem, consider what would happen if the widget closes just before the moment you wanted to add a lap.</p>

It works as described including the limitation that is imposed by Garmin OS. Why Garmin doesn't have a proper stopwatch app in the first place? An improvement suggestion is to keep the history. For example I do 100m sprints. It would be nice to be able to see the records for the last 10 sprints along with the date/time.

Today was first time I've used it. What I miss is, when we reach 1h, instead of adding an hour column to the existing face, you delete the last .000 of seconds instead. I understand it's maybe because of lack of space. But please try to do it as best as you can. Precise time is important. Otherwise I like it better than the basic Stopwatch.

Just tried it on my Garmin 235. Perfectly simple, and exactly what I needed. No laps, though. But still, a great fix for a missing function that Garmin really should have preloaded in the first place.

Its super helpful (Vivoactive 3) but I do have one request... can you let it remain ON the screen vs. returning to main screen (clock face). It really is annoying to see the time disappear in the middle of a race, practice, or workout.

Thanks for your feedback. Garmin has introduced this change in some watches. A "generic" menu is displayed if you press and hold UP when any widget is open. But they said that the "expected" action is triggered when the first option of the menu is chosen. Just a remark: we had to make some adjustments on the program to handle some side-effects of this change. I recommend that you reinstall the widget to be sure that you have the latest version.

Very good and simple widget, easy to use. Only my FR235 always closes the stopwatch after 60 seconds and jumps back to the main page.

Thanks for your feedback. All widgets behave like that: close after some period of inactivity and jump back to the main page. It is not possible to change or avoid this behaviour. If you need a stopwatch that remain in the foreground, you must use a stopwatch "application".
