*TLDR* Power on your radar BEFORE you power on your Garmin. This solves most connection problems. This is particularly important if you have your connection mode set to "Switch between 820 and older radars".*TLDR*

*IMPORTANT* if you have a newer Edge or Garmin watch and want to connect to the 820 rearvue radar in secure bluetooth mode to use the new features of the radar, you MUST go into the ConnectIQ settings and enable the connection mode for it. There are a LOT of settings, now, so look carefully. It's in the third group called "Connection behavior" in the latest update and towards the bottom and may require scrolling in older updates! *IMPORTANT*  

*NOTE*  you must install the data field AND manually add it to one of your data screens in order for ride data to be recorded during your ride. *NOTE*

See how many vehicles passed you in a ride. Plus upload your .FIT file after the ride to see exactly where each car passed you. NEW: enable auto-sync through Garmin Connect. You can still manually upload rides to mybiketraffic.com, but you can also enable auto-sync to see the locations and speed data for where cars passed you.
