This FREE data field (with optional Pro tier upgrade) provides a simple current gear display and records gear usage metrics to your activity file for post-ride analysis in Garmin Connect.

It's compatible with Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, and other electronic shifting systems that follow the Ant+ Shifting standard.

# How should we calculate "time spent in each gear"?
- Only consider moving time (requires speed data)
- Only consider pedaling time (requires cadence data)  
- Consider all time when activity clock is running

Session Fields (ie summary stats):

- Cassette Teeth (only shown if lowest and highest rear gear are used during the ride)
- Chainring Teeth (only shown if all front gears are used during the ride)
- Rear shift count
- Front shift count (2x only)

#### Developer FIT Fields Warning
This app can add many developer FIT fields to your activity file. Garmin limits each activity to 16 developer fields per message type (Session, Lap, Record) and 32 bytes total per message type, shared across all installed data fields. 

If you use other data fields that write developer FIT fields, be selective to avoid crashes. If you're only using eShiftMetrics, it's safe to enable all available fields.
