KodeshMode is a clean, focused Shabbat display app for Garmin watches.

It is designed for users who want to keep wearing their Garmin watch during Shabbat, with a simple, calm and clear display — without unnecessary clutter or screen interaction.

Its purpose is to show only the information needed for Shabbat: time, Hebrew date, weekly Torah portion, candle-lighting and Shabbat end times, Sefirat HaOmer when relevant, battery level and basic information — in a quiet, respectful and easy-to-read way.

The app is adapted to different Garmin watch types. On AMOLED watches, the display is minimal and calm to reduce brightness and help lower burn-in risk. On MIP/Solar watches, the display is simple, clear and battery-friendly.

Important before Shabbat:
KodeshMode cannot automatically change the watch’s system settings. Garmin does not allow third-party apps to turn off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, wrist gesture, touch screen, vibration, alerts, activity tracking or certain system sensors. These settings must be handled manually before Shabbat.

When Shabbat mode is started, the app can check some settings, such as phone connection, communication availability, activity tracking and touch confirmation on touch-screen watches, and show a warning if something should be handled before Shabbat. It does not replace manual preparation.

Recommended checklist before candle lighting:
• Enable airplane mode or turn off communication
• Turn off wrist gesture for screen wake
• Turn off the touch screen, especially on touch-screen watches
• Turn off activity tracking to prevent vibration or step-goal alerts
• Turn off vibration, sounds and system alerts
• Make sure no alarms are active
• Choose location and Shabbat time settings in advance
• Open KodeshMode and leave it running

On AMOLED watches, the app uses a calm, reduced always-on display designed for use throughout Shabbat with Always On Display. Before Shabbat, it is recommended to turn off wrist gesture, auto brightness and unnecessary sensors, to prevent reactions to movement, light changes or sensor activity.

Please consult a rabbi or halachic authority regarding the settings that match your custom and halachic guidance.

KodeshMode is open source. Developers, testers, designers, translators and users are welcome to contribute code, report issues, suggest improvements, add model support and help make the app better.

KodeshMode היא אפליקציית תצוגת שבת נקייה וממוקדת לשעוני Garmin.

האפליקציה מיועדת למשתמשים שרוצים להישאר עם שעון Garmin על היד במהלך שבת, עם תצוגה פשוטה, רגועה וברורה - בלי עומס מיותר ובלי התעסקות מיותרת במסכים.

המטרה של KodeshMode היא להציג בשבת רק את המידע הדרוש: שעה, תאריך עברי, פרשת השבוע, זמני הדלקת נרות וצאת שבת, ספירת העומר בעונה, אחוז סוללה ומידע בסיסי נוסף - בצורה שקטה, מכובדת ונוחה לקריאה.

האפליקציה מותאמת לסוגים שונים של שעוני Garmin. בשעוני AMOLED התצוגה מצומצמת ורגועה יותר, כדי להפחית בהירות מיותרת ולצמצם סיכון לצריבת מסך. בשעוני MIP/Solar התצוגה בנויה להיות פשוטה, ברורה וחסכונית ככל האפשר.

חשוב לדעת לפני שבת:
KodeshMode אינה יכולה לשנות אוטומטית את הגדרות המערכת של השעון. Garmin אינה מאפשרת לאפליקציות צד־שלישי לכבות בעצמן Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, מחוות יד, מסך מגע, רטט, התראות, מעקב פעילות או חיישני מערכת מסוימים. לכן את ההגדרות האלו יש לבצע מראש, לפני כניסת שבת.

בעת הפעלת מצב שבת האפליקציה יכולה לבדוק חלק מההגדרות, כמו חיבור לטלפון, זמינות תקשורת, מעקב פעילות ואישור כיבוי מגע בשעוני מגע, ולהציג אזהרה אם נדרש טיפול לפני שבת. היא אינה מחליפה את ההכנה הידנית של השעון.

רשימת הכנה מומלצת לפני הדלקת נרות:
• להפעיל מצב טיסה או לכבות תקשורת
• לכבות מחוות יד להדלקת המסך
• לכבות מסך מגע, במיוחד בשעוני מגע
• לכבות מעקב פעילות כדי למנוע רטט או התראות יעד צעדים
• לכבות רטט, צלילים והתראות מערכת
• לוודא שאין שעונים מעוררים פעילים
• לבחור מראש מיקום והגדרות זמני שבת מתאימים
• להפעיל את KodeshMode ולהשאיר אותה פתוחה

בשעוני AMOLED האפליקציה משתמשת בתצוגה קבועה, רגועה ומצומצמת המותאמת לשימוש לאורך השבת באמצעות Always On Display. מומלץ לכבות לפני שבת מחוות יד, בהירות אוטומטית וחיישנים שאינם נצרכים, כדי למנוע תגובה של השעון לתנועה, לשינויי תאורה או לפעילות חיישנים.

מומלץ להתייעץ עם רב או סמכות הלכתית לגבי ההגדרות המתאימות למנהג ולהוראות שעל פיהן אתם נוהגים.

KodeshMode היא פרויקט קוד פתוח. מפתחים, בודקים, מעצבים, מתרגמים ומשתמשי האפליקציה מוזמנים לתרום קוד, לדווח על תקלות, להציע שיפורים, לשפר תמיכה בעברית, להוסיף התאמות לדגמים נוספים ולעזור להפוך את האפליקציה לטובה יותר עבור כולם.

הערה חשובה:
האפליקציה נועדה להיות כלי עזר לניהול תצוגת השעון בשבת. היא אינה מהווה פסיקה הלכתית ואינה מחליפה התייעצות עם רב או סמכות הלכתית. כל משתמש אחראי לוודא שהגדרות האפליקציה והשעון מתאימות למנהגו ולהוראות שעל פיהן הוא נוהג.

זמני שבת עשויים להשתנות לפי מיקום, הגדרות ומנהג מקומי. יש לוודא את הזמנים לפי המקור המקובל עליכם. נכון לגרסה זו, יש להשתמש בזמנים רק בהתאם למיקומים ולהגדרות הנתמכים באפליקציה.
