**Measurement condition:** before measuring, turn the HRM off in the watch's **Settings - Sensors & Accessories** so it is disconnected from the watch.
If the HRM stays connected to the watch, the watch reports the HRM value as its own heart rate, the two values become identical and the wrist HR cannot be compared.
Keep the HRM strap worn and powered on. The app connects to it directly over Bluetooth.

HRM Benchmark measures your watch's built-in optical wrist heart rate and a chest heart rate monitor (HRM, e.g. Garmin HRM 600) at the same time and compares their performance. It shows in numbers how closely the two agree and how quickly the wrist follows when your heart rate rises. The chest HRM (electrode based) is used as the reference.

**Features**
- **Live comparison:** two big numbers (watch in yellow, HRM in sky blue) with their difference, a 60-second two-line graph, agreement and lag on one screen.
- **Agreement:** the share of seconds, with both values present, where the two were within 5 bpm.
- **Lag:** matches the shape of the two curves to find how many seconds the wrist curve trails (up to 30 s).
- **Rise reply:** every time your HR rises by more than 10 bpm, it times how many seconds later the watch reaches the same HR, with a big message and a vibration.
- **Result and details:** mean difference, big misses (gaps over 10 bpm lasting 5 s or more), bias (average watch - HRM), received %, average and max HR, agreement below / above 100 bpm.
- **History:** review or delete your last 30 results.
- Big readable text, help with figures and tables, English / Korean (Language menu), works with buttons and touch.
- No activity is recorded (nothing is uploaded to Garmin Connect).

**How to use**
1. Wet the HRM electrodes, put the strap on, and turn the HRM off in the watch's Settings - Sensors & Accessories (measurement condition).
2. Open the app. It finds the HRM over Bluetooth and starts the test by itself once both values are steady for 10 seconds. The first time, the watch asks you to confirm the Bluetooth connection.
3. Rest for a minute, climb stairs or do squats for a minute, rest again; repeat 2-3 times. Each rise shows its reply time.
4. Press START to stop and read the result. UP/DOWN switch between live, result and details.
5. Hold UP = menu (history, language, help), BACK = exit.

**Requirements**
- A chest HRM that supports the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate Service and also sends beat-to-beat (RR) intervals, e.g. Garmin HRM 600, HRM-Pro Plus, HRM-Dual, Polar H10, Wahoo TICKR. Confirmed device: Garmin HRM 600.
- ANT+-only monitors (e.g. HRM-Run, HRM-Tri) cannot be used. Optical arm bands are not recommended (many do not send RR intervals, and they are not an electrode reference).
- If the HRM is already connected over Bluetooth to other devices, the app may not be able to connect.
- The HRM turned off in the watch's sensor settings (see the measurement condition).
- A one-time Bluetooth connection confirmation on the watch.

**Good to know**
- This is a short test app. It cannot run inside another activity such as a run.
- The response verdict appears once you raise your HR at least twice. A test at rest shows 'no rise'; agreement and mean difference can still be read.
- Results depend on band fit, cold, sweat, tattoos, arm movement and how the strap is worn.
- For device comparison only; not a medical device.
- Free with no ads. Donations through the Donate menu item are optional.

**Supported watches (61):** Forerunner 970, 965, 570, 265/265S, 255 series, 165, 170, 70, 955 / fēnix 7, 8, 9 series, fēnix E / epix 2, epix Pro / Enduro 3, 4 / Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct Crossover AMOLED / MARQ Gen 2, Aviator, Gen 3 / D2 Mach 1, 2, Mach 2 Pro / Descent G2, Mk3 / Venu 3, 3S, Venu 4 / vívoactive 5, 6

예: Garmin HRM 600, HRM-Pro Plus, HRM-Dual, Polar H10, Wahoo TICKR.
