The free version is a 3 day forecast while the paid version is a 7 day forecast.  

Table Legend:
H: High temperature
L: Low temperature
P: Precipitation probability
A: Accumulation in inches or cm depending on your units setting (Blue background is rain accumulation, white background is snow accumulation)
W: Wind in mph or m/s depending on your units setting, or beaufort number if the Beaufort number setting is selected

In settings (through the Garmin Connect app), you can specify whether to use imperial or metric units, and you can choose to use the DarkSky weather API, the OpenWeather API, or the Here API for weather data.

Note that if the temperature is displayed in Red at the top of the screen, then the watch hasn't been able to successfully connect to the internet to update the weather.  Make sure your watch has a good connection with your phone and your phone has a good internet connection.

If your watch doesn't show weather data, it's probably because you don't have a GPS location yet, and you'll need to open an app that gets a GPS fix and then go back to the widget.
