Counts every other lap, so the number on screen is your rep number instead of your lap number.

Interval sessions put a lap press at every transition — one to end the rep, one to end the rest. The watch's own lap counter counts both, so 15 x 30 s reads 30. Skip Lap ignores one lap, counts the next, and keeps alternating.

Press lap to end the warmup (ignored), press lap to end rep 1 (counts 1), press lap to end the rest (ignored), press lap to end rep 2 (counts 2), and so on.
Settings:
• Skip the first lap (warmup) — turn off if you start the timer straight into rep 1
• Show the rep you are in, instead of reps completed
• Start counting from — for resuming a session or starting a second block

The count is also written to the FIT file, so each lap in Garmin Connect carries its rep number and the session carries the total.

Turn Auto Lap off. It raises the same lap event as the lap button and would shift the count.
