The clock carries no colon and no longer needs one. The hour and the minute sit one above the other, stepped across the dial and set in a bold italic — the hour in white, the minute in the club's yellow, each over its own shadow. Colour is what tells them apart.

The date stands down the left-hand side in two lines: the day and the month above, the weekday below.

Everything else the face writes is that same yellow — the date, the two readings, the gauge and the ring round the outside. That ring is the day's steps against your goal. Under the clock, your calories and your step count.

At the right-hand edge, the battery as five dots and a reading. When it falls to a fifth, the last dot and the number both turn white: on a dial half yellow, red would disappear into the ground, and white is what is left to warn with.

Stacked is what it opens with — the clock described above. Classic is the other: one line across the middle, the hour set hairline and the minutes a weight heavier, with the date up under the badge and divided by the yellow stripe. One setting, in Garmin Connect.

Ein digitales Zifferblatt, in der Mitte geteilt in Schwarz und Gelb, mit dem Vereinsemblem am oberen Rand und einem gelben Streifen, der von ihm herabläuft.

Das Zifferblatt trägt keinen Doppelpunkt und braucht auch keinen mehr. Stunde und Minute stehen übereinander, versetzt über das Zifferblatt gesetzt und in einer fetten Kursiven: die Stunde in Weiß, die Minute in dem Gelb des Vereins, jede über ihrem eigenen Schatten. Die Farbe unterscheidet sie.

Das Datum steht links am Rand in zwei Zeilen: Tag und Monat oben, der Wochentag darunter.

Alles Übrige, was das Zifferblatt schreibt, steht in demselben Gelb — das Datum, die beiden Werte, die Akkuanzeige und der Ring am Rand. Dieser Ring sind die Schritte des Tages gegen dein Ziel. Unter der Uhr deine Kalorien und deine Schritte.

Am rechten Rand der Akku als fünf Punkte mit Wert. Fällt er auf ein Fünftel, färben sich der letzte Punkt und die Zahl weiß: auf einem halb gelben Zifferblatt würde Rot im Untergrund verschwinden, und Weiß ist, was zum Warnen bleibt.

ZWEI LAYOUTS, EIN ZIFFERBLATT

Gestapelt ist das Layout, mit dem es startet — die Uhr von oben. Klassisch ist das andere: eine Zeile quer durch die Mitte, die Stunde haarfein und die Minuten eine Spur kräftiger, das Datum oben unter dem Emblem und vom gelben Streifen geteilt. Eine Einstellung, in Garmin Connect.
