Name: Sprint Start
Author: VyteraLabs

Sprint Start turns your watch into a starter for track sessions.

Press START and the watch runs the four commands of a sprint start - Get Ready, On Your Marks, Set, Go - then times the run to a thousandth of a second.

THE HOLDS ARE RANDOM

On Your Marks and Set each last a random length inside a range you choose, drawn to the millisecond rather than the whole second. With only a handful of whole-second outcomes an athlete learns to count the hold and time their drive out of the blocks against it. Milliseconds make that impossible.

No countdown is shown during a random stage. A countdown would hand back exactly the information the randomness exists to hide.

EVERY COMMAND IS A BEEP AND A BUZZ

Get Ready - one beep
On Your Marks - one beep
Set - two beeps
Go - one beep, and the stopwatch starts

The clock starts the instant the Go tone fires, so the time includes the athlete's reaction to the sound they actually heard.

CONTROLS

START - begin the sequence, or stop the stopwatch
BACK - reset
Hold UP - settings

SETTINGS

Adjustable on the watch or from Garmin Connect:

Get Ready - a fixed walk-up time, 10 seconds by default, or random if you prefer
On Your Marks - 4 to 10 seconds by default
Set - 3 to 7 seconds by default
Beeps and vibration, on or off

Works whether you are training alone or starting a group.

No GPS, no internet, no account, no data collected.

IF IT VIBRATES BUT DOES NOT BEEP

Check Settings - System - Sound & Vibe on your watch. If tones are enabled only during an activity, they will not sound for apps - this one included. Enable tones for the non-activity case and the commands become audible.
