Backyard is the companion for any backyard ultra runner. It tells you which lap you're on, how long until the next bell, and — most importantly — whether at your current pace you'll make it back in time to rest.

Here's what it does:

• It tells you whether you'll make it. That's the main thing: at the pace you're running, it works out how much time you'll have left over to rest before the next bell — or how far behind you are and need to push.
• Corral warnings at 3, 2 and 1 minute, with a chime, vibration and the screen going red, so the bell never catches you away from the line.
• You set the race start time and the bells anchor to it. It doesn't matter when you press start.
• You set the yard's duration and distance, which makes it as useful for training as for racing.
• Yards can close themselves, by distance or by GPS when you come back through the start — or by hand with the LAP button, whichever you prefer.
• It saves your full activity, with the track, so afterwards you review it in Garmin Connect or anything you've linked, Strava included.
• You choose which screens you see and in what order. There are six; keep the ones that help you.
• Very light, built to last through long races without eating your watch.
• Six languages — English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese — and it picks whichever your watch is set to.
• Runs on about a hundred Garmin watches: fēnix, Forerunner, epix, enduro, Venu, vívoactive, Instinct, MARQ and Descent.

Backyard es el compañero para el corredor de una backyard ultra. Te dice en qué vuelta vas, cuánto falta para la próxima campana y, lo más importante, si al ritmo que llevas vas a llegar a tiempo para descansar.

• Te dice si vas a llegar. Es lo principal: al ritmo que llevas, calcula cuánto tiempo te va a sobrar para descansar antes de la próxima campana, o cuánto vas por debajo y tienes que apretar.
• Avisos de corral a los 3, 2 y 1 minuto, con campanada, vibración y la pantalla en rojo, para que nunca te agarre la campana fuera de la línea.
• Programas la hora de inicio de la carrera y las campanas quedan ancladas a ella. Da igual cuándo pulses start.
• Defines la duración y la distancia de la vuelta, lo que la hace igual de útil para entrenar que para competir.
• Las vueltas se marcan solas, por distancia o por GPS al volver al punto de salida — o a mano con el botón de LAP, como prefieras.
• Guarda tu actividad completa, con su track, así que después la revisas en Garmin Connect o en lo que tengas vinculado, Strava incluido.
• Eliges qué pantallas ves y en qué orden. Hay seis; te quedas con las que te sirvan.
• Muy liviana, hecha para aguantar carreras largas sin comerse el reloj.
• En seis idiomas —inglés, español, francés, alemán, italiano y portugués— y coge sola el que tengas puesto en el reloj.
