This is a legacy version of the CORE app and will not be subject to further development. We prepared it to provide users with old (memory-limited) Garmin devices still some limited functionality. 

This version may exhibit unexpected behaviour based on individual settings or configurations and there will be no official support for problems with this Data Field.

The CORE Connect-IQ Datafield captures your live thermal data directly from your CORE Body Temperature sensor and displays this data onscreen. It includes the core- and skin temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Furthermore, the Heat Strain Index value is displayed. All data streams are stored in the fit-file and displayed in your Connect-IQ app for post-workout analysis. For newer devices the Heat Zones and the time spent in each zone is displayed.  

What does CORE do?  

CORE is the first wearable sensor that accurately monitors core body temperature continuously and non-invasively. Athletes can rely on real-time monitoring of thermal data and record it to the fit-file for post-workout analysis. 

Core body temperature is a vital metric and for sports, when you get hot, your power output then starts to drop. With core body temperature monitoring, athletes can train and condition their body to become more efficient at cooling and to increase power output. 

The ability to monitor core body temperature in real-time and analyse the data provides more insights and control over your performance. The data can be used by athletes to avoid heat-stress, to undertake heat training, heat adaption, and to identify the most effective cooling strategies.

Garmin Compatibility: 
CORE supports ANT+ and works with most Garmin Connect-IQ compatible devices.  For the best results with Garmin watches, wear CORE on the same side. 

For sports use, CORE needs to be paired with the heart rate monitor. This is done through the CORE app.
