The clock carries no colon and no longer needs one. The hour and the minute sit one above the other, stepped across the dial and set in a bold italic — the hour in the badge's own gold, the minute in white, each over its own shadow. Colour is what tells them apart.

The date stands down the left-hand side in two lines: the day and the month above, the weekday below.

Everything else the face writes is white — the date, the two readings, the battery gauge and the wordmark at the foot. Both halves of this dial are dark, so white stands on either of them unaided and no row needs a shadow behind it. Under the clock, your calories and your step count.

Round the outside, the day's steps against your goal, as a gold ring. It goes with the hour rather than with the readings: gold is the dial's second voice, and the ring and the hour are the two things on the face that are not simply written down.

At the right-hand edge, the battery as five dots and a reading. When it falls to a fifth, the last dot and the number both turn gold: on a dial that is black on one half and deep blue on the other, red is the obvious alarm and the one colour that cannot be used — it all but disappears against the blue.

Stacked is what it opens with — the clock described above. Classic is the other: one line across the middle, the hour set hairline and the minutes a weight heavier, in the same gold and white, with the date up under the badge. One setting, in Garmin Connect.

Un quadrante digitale diviso a metà in nero e blu, con lo stemma del club in oro nella parte alta.

L'orologio non porta i due punti e non ne ha più bisogno. Ora e minuti stanno uno sopra l'altro, sfalsati sul quadrante e composti in un corsivo grassetto: l'ora nell'oro dello stemma, i minuti in bianco, ciascuno sopra la propria ombra. È il colore a distinguerli.

La data sta sul lato sinistro su due righe: il giorno e il mese in alto, il giorno della settimana sotto.

Tutto il resto che il quadrante scrive è bianco — la data, i due valori, l'indicatore della batteria e la scritta in basso. Entrambe le metà di questo quadrante sono scure, quindi il bianco si regge da solo su una come sull'altra e nessuna riga ha bisogno di un'ombra dietro. Sotto l'orologio, le calorie e i passi.

Tutt'intorno, i passi della giornata rispetto al tuo obiettivo, come un anello dorato. Va con l'ora e non con i valori: l'oro è la seconda voce del quadrante, e l'anello e l'ora sono le due cose sul quadrante che non sono semplicemente scritte.

Sul bordo destro, la batteria come cinque punti e una percentuale. Quando scende a un quinto, l'ultimo punto e il numero diventano dorati: su un quadrante nero da una parte e blu profondo dall'altra, il rosso è l'allarme ovvio e l'unico colore inutilizzabile — sul blu sparisce quasi del tutto.

DUE LAYOUT, UN QUADRANTE

Impilato è quello con cui si apre — l'orologio descritto sopra. Classico è l'altro: una sola riga al centro, l'ora in un tratto sottilissimo e i minuti di un peso più pieno, negli stessi oro e bianco, con la data in alto sotto lo stemma. Un'unica impostazione, in Garmin Connect.

Il display always-on mantiene l'orologio e lascia cadere tutto il resto — attenuato, e spostato di qualche pixel ogni minuto perché nessun pixel resti acceso a lungo.
