I originally built this watch face for myself so I could see my glucose, trend, and recent history while riding my e-bike, walking the dog, or going through an ordinary day without opening my phone.

CGM Horizon is a vendor-neutral Nightscout watch face. It works with any CGM or uploader that writes standard glucose entries to a Nightscout instance. It does not connect directly to a CGM sensor, Apple Health, SYAI, or another manufacturer's cloud API.

Required data flow:

CGM sensor and uploader → your Nightscout → Garmin Connect phone connection → watch face

Before using the watch face, you therefore need a working Nightscout site that is already receiving current glucose readings. The developer does not provide or operate a Nightscout server for users.

Setup:

1. Open the watch face settings in Garmin Connect IQ or Garmin Connect on your phone.
2. Enter the HTTPS base URL of your Nightscout site without `/api/...`.
3. If the site is protected, enter a dedicated read-only Nightscout access/API token. A token is optional only for a Nightscout site that deliberately allows public read access.
4. Choose units, theme, thresholds, graph visibility/length, and bottom metrics.

Never enter a Nightscout `API_SECRET`, admin token, database credential, CGM account password, or vendor API key. Use only a dedicated token with read access to glucose entries.

The watch face asks Nightscout for the latest entry at most once every five minutes. The phone must have internet access, Garmin Connect must be running, and the watch must be connected to the phone. Bluetooth problems, phone background restrictions, internet outages, or a sleeping free-hosted Nightscout can delay an update. The displayed age is calculated from the Nightscout measurement timestamp; the `!` marker indicates stale data or a synchronization problem.

After a fresh install or data reset, the graph and its matching average fill progressively while the watch face builds its local history. Users who prefer a simpler display can disable the graph in settings.

Important: CGM Horizon is a supplementary convenience display, not a medical device, primary CGM display, or alarm system. It does not provide guaranteed real-time data. Glucose ranges, colors, trends, and averages are informational only and may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Do not use it for insulin dosing, treatment changes, diagnosis, or emergency decisions. Always verify readings in the primary CGM application/device and follow the CGM manufacturer's and your healthcare professional's instructions.

CGM Horizon

Tento ciferník som pôvodne vytvoril pre seba, aby som počas jazdy na e-biku, prechádzok so psom a bežného dňa videl glukózu, trend a históriu bez otvárania telefónu.

CGM Horizon je univerzálny ciferník pre Nightscout. Funguje s ľubovoľným CGM senzorom alebo uploaderom, ktorý zapisuje štandardné údaje o glukóze do Nightscoutu. Nepripája sa priamo k CGM senzoru, Apple Health, SYAI ani ku cloudovému API iného výrobcu.

Potrebný tok dát:

CGM senzor a uploader → tvoj Nightscout → spojenie telefónu cez Garmin Connect → ciferník

Pred použitím preto potrebuješ funkčný Nightscout, do ktorého už prichádzajú aktuálne hodnoty glukózy. Vývojár používateľom neposkytuje ani neprevádzkuje Nightscout server.

Funkcie:

- aktuálna glukóza s jasnou geometrickou trendovou šípkou
- farebne odlíšené nízke, cieľové a vysoké pásmo
- voliteľný graf za 3, 6 alebo 12 hodín
- režim bez grafu s väčšou glukózou a zvýraznenou trendovou šípkou
- kĺzavý priemer podľa zvoleného 3, 6 alebo 12-hodinového grafu
- vek merania a označenie neaktuálnych dát alebo chyby synchronizácie
- tmavá, svetlá a automatická denná/nočná téma
- voliteľná akcentová farba
- nastaviteľné dolné a horné hranice glukózy
- tri voliteľné metriky: kroky, tep, batéria hodiniek, kalórie alebo vzdialenosť
- responzívna podpora kompatibilných okrúhlych, hranatých, monochromatických, MIP a AMOLED hodiniek Garmin
- anglické a slovenské nastavenia

Nastavenie:

1. V telefóne otvor nastavenia ciferníka v Garmin Connect IQ alebo Garmin Connect.
2. Zadaj HTTPS základnú adresu svojho Nightscoutu bez `/api/...`.
3. Ak je Nightscout chránený, zadaj samostatný Nightscout access/API token iba na čítanie. Token je voliteľný iba vtedy, ak Nightscout zámerne povoľuje verejné čítanie.
4. Vyber jednotky, tému, hranice, zobrazenie/dĺžku grafu a spodné metriky.

Nikdy nezadávaj Nightscout `API_SECRET`, admin token, databázové údaje, heslo ku CGM účtu ani API kľúč výrobcu. Použi iba samostatný token s právom čítať záznamy glukózy.

Ciferník si z Nightscoutu pýta najnovší záznam najviac raz za päť minút. Telefón musí mať internet, Garmin Connect musí byť spustený a hodinky musia byť pripojené k telefónu. Problém s Bluetooth, obmedzenie aplikácie na pozadí, výpadok internetu alebo spiaci bezplatný Nightscout môžu aktualizáciu oneskoriť. Zobrazený vek sa počíta z času merania v Nightscoute; znak `!` upozorňuje na staré dáta alebo problém synchronizácie.

Po novej inštalácii alebo vymazaní dát sa graf a priemer rovnakého obdobia dopĺňajú postupne, kým si ciferník lokálne nazbiera históriu. Používatelia, ktorí chcú jednoduchšie zobrazenie, môžu graf vypnúť v nastaveniach.

Dôležité: CGM Horizon je iba doplnkové zobrazenie pre pohodlie, nie zdravotnícka pomôcka, primárne zobrazenie CGM ani systém alarmov. Nezaručuje dáta v reálnom čase. Rozsahy glukózy, farby, trendy a priemery sú iba informačné a môžu byť oneskorené, neúplné alebo nedostupné. Nepoužívaj ho na dávkovanie inzulínu, zmenu liečby, diagnostiku ani núdzové rozhodnutia. Hodnoty vždy over v primárnej CGM aplikácii alebo zariadení a riaď sa pokynmi výrobcu CGM a svojho zdravotníckeho pracovníka.

CGM Horizon nie je prepojený so spoločnosťou Garmin, Nightscout Foundation, SYAI ani so žiadnym výrobcom CGM.
